Who am I? I think that is a question everyone asks at some point in their life.
If I asked you that question, what would you say? How would you respond? Maybe you would say your name (I’m Sarah) or maybe what you do (I’m a writer). But really, though. Who are you?
I would like to share some truths from the Bible about who and how we are to God. Ultimately, He as our Creator is the only one who can actually say who we are.
~ You Are Loved ~
You are loved more than you will ever know by the one who made you and therefore can define you: God. You may have heard the word “love” be mis-used. Maybe someone told you that he or she loved you, only to turn his or her back on you. God is different. God’s love is without conditions. There is nothing you can do to lose or gain even one ounce of love from Him.
You are loved.
~ You Are Precious ~
You have value. Your life has value. No matter what anyone ever says or does to you, this value does not change. I once heard a perfect comparison for this. Take money, say a fifty dollar note. Imagine this precious fifty dollar note falls onto the ground. Then someone steps on it. Before you can pick it up, it has collected dirt and even gets a little tear in the corner. So, what’s it worth now? Still fifty dollars! No matter how much it is stepped on or how dirty it is, its value doesn’t change. It’s the same with you. You are precious and nothing can change that.
You are precious.
~ You Are His Masterpiece ~
As a child, at some point or other, you were probably told, “There is no second you out there.” It’s true! When God created this world, He could see you. He had a perfect design for you from the very beginning. He created you to be a masterpiece. His masterpiece. He created you uniquely different from everyone else.
You are His masterpiece.
Whenever you feel like you are drowning in self-doubt, remember these three facts. And yes, they are facts. You are loved. You are precious. You are His masterpiece.
